Quicktender Making Payments Again
July 28, 2011 | News Category: Casino Banking
About two months ago, Casino People published an article about the e-wallet solution, Quicktender – Use My Wallet, in which the company had had its accounts frozen and was unable to make payouts to online casino and other online gambling players in the United States. Since the company is based in the Netherlands, it did not have its own US banks, and relied on banks in the United States.
The online payment processing company had got caught up in the seizure of online gambling related bank accounts by the US federal government as part of the Black Friday events. Being unable to make any payments after its account were frozen, the company discontinued its service and informed its customers that it did not know if or when the remaining balances would be paid out. The email sent to the Quicktender customers did note that the company would notify its customers if there were any "future relevant developments."
The company had tried to reassure its US customers that it had funds available in Europe and would be able to pay out any outstanding amounts once they had figured out how they could do this safely. There was however not time frame given, and many online casino players had given up hope of receiving their funds.
Not many were expecting this story to end on a happy note, however, true to its word, Quicktender – Use My Wallet has begun to make payments again.
Before the end of June, Quicktender had already emailed their customers to explain that some of the payouts would be processed, and explained that payouts were only likely in mid-August. Online casino forums have recently had reports that players in the United States, Canada, and in the United Kingdom have already begun to receive their funds after about a two week wait.
The payments that are currently being made are only those for which the funds were still in the Quicktender bank accounts. Those funds that were already in the United States, or had at least been transferred out of the Quicktender accounts has not yet been dealt with.
Quicktender had some restrictions when it came to processing the payments. At first, the company was unable to make payouts in dollars, and had requested that players make sure to use bank accounts that accept Euros. However, it now seems that payments can be made to dollar bank accounts, although the wait is about two weeks after the request is made.
Those players who wish to receive their funds from Quicktender need to place a request, even if they had done so before, and give their banking details to the company again via their customer support.
Although the question of the money that ended up in US frozen bank accounts is as yet unanswered, this is certainly a big step forward, and confirms for players the willingness of Quicktender to do what it can to return online casino funds to those that had chosen to use their e-wallet solution.
