Playtech Online Gaming Site in Finland

The state operated Slot Machine Association in Finland, RAY, have made a deal with Playtech, the well known online casino software provider, to launch an online gaming site for Finland's residents. RAY and Playtech reached an agreement earlier this year, in May 2010. The new site complies with the Finnish regulations.

The online gaming site, with RAY as the operator, can be found at Ray.fi. The gaming site offers players more than 150 games, the majority of which are slots, and some of which are online casino table games.

The games being offered include some special games with local content, such as Tuplapotti, and JokeriPokeri, and of course some of the Playtech favorites, including some branded slot games such as Pink Panther, and Iron Man.

Not only will there be the regular table games and slot games, but the offering includes online poker. The online poker comes in a number of formats, and players can share tournaments between RAY's land based casinos and the new online site.

The new regulatory environment in Finland includes requirements such as age verification, as well as online identity verification. The online identity verification is connected to the Finnish Population Register. Players can choose to set personal gaming limits, and can also monitor their own gaming activity with a specially created tool, the 'Playscan.'

The Head of Internet gaming operations at RAY, Kari Hyttinen, said: "It has been a close collaboration between Playtech and ourselves as we have worked to develop the very best online gaming environment for Finnish players under what is a new regulatory environment."

Hyttinen continued: "With our very strong focus on responsible gaming, we have been pushing the frontiers of technology and integration through this process. Playtech has delivered innovative solutions to achieve these and we can now offer our players market-leading content in a controlled environment that is fully consistent with our core values and controls."

Weizer explained that RAY had a number of requirements, and that Playtech worked to develop unique solutions to the company's requirements.
