New Microgaming Releases for June Include European Blackjack
May 27, 2009 | News Category: Blackjack
As with most online software companies, most of the game releases from Microgaming are slot games. This is because most of the games played in online casinos are slot games, and basically, table games are fairly standard and do not need new releases as often as slots do in order to keep players interested in the game. However, every so often, leading online casino software companies, such as Microgaming, release new versions of table games for their players' pleasure, and to add a bit of variety to their already extensive lineup.
The table game that is being released on the 3rd of June is a blackjack game with exciting additional betting. The game is Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack. The no peek rule applies in this game, which is based on the 'Over and Under 13' game. Hi Lo 13 European Blackjack is played as a single hand version, which has the option for a side bet. The dealer has to stand at 17.
The optional side bet is based on the first two cards that are dealt to each player. Players wishing to place the Hi Lo 13 bet first need to place a regular blackjack bet on the hand. The optional bets that can be placed are placed on whether the sum of the first two cards will be equal to more than 13, whether the sum of the first two cards will be equal to 13, or whether the sum of the first two cards will be equal to less than 13. Players are allowed to place the side bet on all three options if they choose to do so.
The game forms part of the Blackjack Gold Series, which includes a range of blackjack variations. The game has good graphics, speedy play, music and digital quality sound effects. It falls under Microgaming's Viper software platform, which comes with valuable player aids, controls and tools.
The basic objective of blackjack is for players to have cards that total a number higher than the dealer's total, without reaching more than twenty-one, or to end up with a hand with a value under twenty-one, while the dealer goes bust by ending up with a total of over twenty-one. As far as card values go, each card is its face value, except for Aces and face cards. Face cards are all counted at a value of ten, while Aces can be counted as either one, or eleven, depending on how the player chooses to count their hand.
