December is the time of the year when various awards are handed out in the online gambling industry. Microgaming, as one of the top online casino software providers in the world has won yet another award this year.

Microgaming is based on the Isle of Man, and have won various awards over the past few years in the Isle of Man Newspapers Awards. These awards are awarded for excellence across the entire business sector and the community of the Isle of Man, and not restricted to only online gambling operations. This year, Microgaming has been announced as the winner of the 2009 Isle of Man Newspapers Award in the category of Innovation and Independent Thinking.

Last year, in 2008, Microgaming received the Company of the Year accolade, and their CEO, Roger Raatgever, won the Business Person of the Year award. Two years ago, in 2007, Microgaming was given the New Business and Program Development award.

The awards committee acknowledged the online casino software provider as a leader in the e-Gaming sector. It was noted that Microgaming's excellent technological development has contributed many online gaming ‘firsts' to the online gambling sector of the market.

Microgaming was recognized for their innovative thinking that has moved their business forward over the years that they have been in operation. The company was praised for their service and dedication to the local community on the Isle of Man, which has included the establishment of a trust that assists the health and wellbeing of the community, the Microgaming Health and Care Trust.

Roger Raatgever, Microgaming's Chief Executive, said of the most recent award won by the company, "We are honored to be recognized for our innovation and independent thinking as these attributes have been central to our growth over the last decade."

He continued, "This award recognizes our ability to harness the creativity and passion of our team to inspire the most inventive and cutting-edge games on the market. The Isle of Man is a dynamic place both to work and live, and is a leading jurisdiction in the e-Gaming industry." Raatgever expressed his pride in being able to call the Isle of Man home, and noted "We look forward to playing an ongoing role in contributing to the economic and social success of the Island for a long time to come."

Microgaming set up their headquarters on the Isle of Man in 2001. The Isle of Man has a good reputation as an IT center and is known for its IT skills. The Isle of Man has, once again, shown their commitment to a global responsible online gambling market.
