Live Gambling Cooperation between Online and Land Casinos
January 11, 2010 | News Category: Online Casinos
In the Dominican Republic, the first month of a six month long test has been completed successfully. The online casino test does not simply involve live dealers, but gives players a new and interesting mix of playing in an online casino where the live dealer is at a real land-based casino table.
The first month of the trial has shown that the new online casino software has run smoothly and that the online casino and the land-based casino worked well together. The software is being tested in the Dominican Republic by Kenilworth Systems Corporation which has been offering their players the chance to join in with a live roulette game from the Sousa Grand Casino.
The system that is being tested is one that allows players to watch a live video feed from the physical land-based casino and play the game as if they were there. This is an interesting addition to the regular live dealer casinos that are available online.
Live dealer online casinos have been a great hit with online casino players, but this experiment takes live dealer casinos one step further by allowing players to join in with actual games that are taking place in real land-based casinos with both land-based and online casino players joining in the same game. This allows players to continue playing from the comfort of their own homes, yet really be a part of a game in a land-based casino.
There are some players that are somewhat weary of the Random Number Generators that are used by online casino software to randomly generate the outcome of games. Although the RNGs by those online casinos that are audited and approved by organizations such as eCOGRA can certainly be considered to be trustworthy, there will always be those who prefer to see that the game is being played randomly. This live gambling product that is currently in its test phase does remove the possibility of software manipulation.
Herbert Lindo, the Chief Executive Officer of Kenilworth, said "The live in-progress roulette test..., viewed globally, has now passed the first month and thousands that have played at the table have proven that online gaming is a viable, profitable business."
Lindo is also hoping that Barney Frank’s bill will soon be passed by the United States Congress since this new technology actually allows players to play in land-based casinos from their own homes, without having to go there in person. Any arguments that have been leveled at online casinos regarding the safety of their software simply fall away with this innovative gaming idea.
