Japanese Style Games from Microgaming
November 12, 2010 | News Category: Casino Games
Microgaming, the online gaming software developer, has announced the launch of Pachislo and Pachinko, which are Japanese style slot games. The three games that are being released consist of one Pachinko game, and two Pachislo games.
Pachislo is similar to the slots that can be found in both land based and online casinos. It certainly looks similar to regular slots, being a 3 reel, and 5 payline game. An interesting feature of the game is that players can operate each of the three reels separately, with each reel having its own separate button. Microgaming has added some variations to the basic game of Pachislo, in order to make it more interesting, and more exciting.
Pachinko, although not strictly speaking a slot game, is particularly popular in Japan. The game looks more like a pinball machine than it looks like a slot game. The way that this game works is that players purchase some of the small balls. The player then 'feeds' the balls one by one into the Pachinko machine, and then tries to control the speed of the balls in the machine with a knob. The player wins if the ball lands up in one of the pockets, and loses if the ball ends up at the bottom. Prizes are awarded when the balls land in the pockets.
The games will be offered to players in a number of different languages, and online gaming operators will be able to choose to add these games to their offerings as a stand alone product from Microgaming, and not as part of a suite of games.
The Head of Casino at Microgaming, Mike Hebden, spoke about this new and interesting gaming direction: "Microgaming has always led the way when it comes to launching innovative products, and the launch of Pachislo and Pachinko is no exception. This latest proposition demonstrates our commitment to exploring new markets and tailoring our offering to an increasingly diverse range of operators and players."
At this time, Microgaming has not yet announced a launch date for these new games, and it has not yet been released as to which online casinos will carry these games, although it is expected that they should be available at a number of Microgaming's online casinos when the time comes.
Hebden said: "We have worked hard to ensure that our new portfolio of games captures the sights, sounds and game logic of authentic Pachislo and Pachinko games, and we're extremely confident they will prove a hit with players all around the world."
