The IBLS (Internet Business Law Services) is an organization that offers "Legal Information for Business Strategy." Essentially, the IBLS deals with the law pertaining to all things that are found on the Internet, and not specifically online gambling. Recently, the IBLS published an article that noted the importance of the organization eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance.)

The IBLS article acknowledged the important contribution that eCOGRA has made to the online gambling world. The non-profit organization, eCOGRA, has raised the standards for online gambling websites, especially in the area of player protection.

The IBLS article explained that eCOGRA inspects online gambling software, checks whether the online gambling sites in question make swift payments, and that they have good customer service, and that disputes are resolved quickly and fairly. eCOGRA also tests the sites to ensure that good encrypted software is used, so that any personal information that players will give the site will be safe and secure. Once an online casino, or other online gambling site fulfils the requirements as laid out by eCOGRA, they will receive the eCOGRA seal of approval, which is recognized widely in the online gambling world.

The article focused on eCOGRA's role in dispute management. If there are disagreements between players and eCOGRA certified online gambling sites, eCOGRA operates as a dispute resolution arbiter when necessary. The IBLS article noted: "A typical eCOGRA site has 4 complaints a month, whereas an independent site averages almost 12." eCOGRA is known to resolve disputes quickly, and in an impartial manner. After a decision has been made by eCOGRA, the online casino that holds the eCOGRA seal of approval will be bound by the decision.

"eCOGRA has been gaining credibility and a reputation as a reliable, independent testing agency for online casinos and poker rooms. Their 'seal of approval' is becoming more popular, and they have attracted almost 100 out of the 2,000 online casinos to join their group and undergo their audits."

The non-profit organization does not simply test an online casino before giving their seal, but they continue to analyze and test the online casino on a regular basis, rather than performing only occasional inspections. eCOGRA's Total Gaming Transaction Review (TGTR), which analyzes the online casinos, was praised.

eCOGRA is certainly one organization that helps players to feel safe when choosing an online casino, and the eCOGRA seal of approval is an excellent guide in choosing an online casino to play at.
