Four eCOGRA Sites Win EGR Awards

The eGaming Review Magazine annual awards for 2009 have taken place at a formal function in London's Old Billingsgate Market at the end of last month. The EGR awards brought together 900 guests on the 30th November for the glitzy award ceremony.
Although eCOGRA did not win a single award, they certainly shared a place in the limelight, since four eCOGRA approved and certified online gambling operations won four of the most prestigious awards.
The most prestigious of the four awards went to Bwin Interactive AG, which is located in Vienna. Bwin won the Operator of the Year award. It was noted that they excelled in all areas when it came to online gaming products, making them notably better than the rest in 2009.
The other eCOGRA certified operators that won awards were 888.com, which won the Casino Operator of the Year award. The Poker Operator of the Year award was won by PartyGaming for PartyPoker, their online poker portal. Two awards were won by the European-based Unibet. These two awards were the European Live Gaming Operator of the Year award, and the European Sports Operator of the Year award.
The Chief Executive Officer of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge, said of the four award winners: "We're very proud to be associated with these well managed operations, which have once again proved that a sincere commitment to integrity and professionalism is good for the players, good for business and good for the industry."
Ladbrokes Casino, which is also eCOGRA certified, did not win any of the EGR awards, however, they were the most nominated online gambling operator at the awards.
eCOGRA only give online gambling operators their "Safe & Fair" seal after strict requirements are met, and extensive auditing of the online gambling operations has been done. eCOGRA helps increase the performance and trustworthiness of online gambling operators by helping to put various systems and rules in place when undergoing auditing. eCOGRA continues to give courses and support to those who wish to carry their seal. There is no doubt that the four online gambling operators that won these prestigious EGR awards were helped to do so by their association to eCOGRA.
eCOGRA, the e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance organization give their stamp of approval to various online gambling operators, which includes online casinos, sports books, poker rooms, bingo halls, affiliate programs and online gambling software providers.
