The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring has been released by Microgaming to much excitement from fans of the well known and much loved Lord of the Rings trilogy. This new flagship branded video slot game comes with some exciting new technology.

The technology that has taken Microgaming players to a much higher level of fun, is the new Cinematic Spins. The Cinematic Spins let players see film clips with each spin that they play.

Since these Lord of the Rings slot games are likely to be extremely popular, the large online casino software company, Microgaming, is working towards bringing players these very exciting video slots with excellent graphics from the movies themselves. There will also be animation used, and other themes and characters that are from The Lord of the Rings movies.

As exciting as the game is to play, not all players get the chance to take a spin, simply because not all players live in countries where online gaming is legal. A company spokesman said that these exciting three new slots games will only be available to those who live in countries where online gaming is allowed.

The way that the new Cinematic Spins technology works is that movie clips can be used as moving backgrounds that continue to show the movie clips while the reels are spinning. This means that even while the wheels are spinning, players are provided with the special entertainment that comes with the well loved movie trilogy. Players will get the chance to feel like they are very much involved with the movie itself, rather than merely a slot game.

Not only do the movie clips continue to show when the reels are spinning, but the Cinematic Spins gaming technology is also used during various win sequences, and when expanding wilds are hit. Instead of using the regular animated graphics for the expanding wilds, cinematic clips have been used instead.

The Microgaming Chief Executive Officer, Roger Raatgever said: “This game really does push the boundaries of what an online slot can do. The Fellowship of the Ring looks and feels like an extension of the big screen film experience and we're confident that our operators will see a great deal of demand from their players.”

Mr. Raatgever also noted: “This was an important deal for Microgaming and highlights our commitment to partner with the right brands, at the right time."

This certainly looks like one slot not to be missed, and players would be well advised to take a spin and enjoy!

The Lord of the Rings slot games form part of a multi-year licensing deal between Microgaming and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution in 2009.
