The online casino industry is a very competitive one. Online casino software companies are constantly updating their software and adding as many new and exciting features as they can in order to keep up with the competition. Not only are regular casino games expected to meet the cutting edge as far as design and efficiency goes, but slots and any other games are made more attractive by specially chosen themes.

The current, and very popular, trend set by Cryptologic is one that uses everybody's old favorites - superheroes. Cryptologic has a deal with Marvel that they can create games with DC Comics characters, which will bring many superheroes right into the homes of slot players. Cryptologic's games will enable both, Superman and Batman to be a simple mouse-click away!

Playtech have now moved into the superhero market by signing a deal with Marvel Entertainment, which allows them to develop games using the Marvel brand. Playtech's deal with Marvel Entertainment will allow the software gaming company to use Marvel characters in their various casino brands, as well as in online gambling applications.

The Playtech multi-year licensing agreement will allow Playtech to be able to include characters such as the X-men, The Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, and the Iron Man, and many others in their games. Playtech provide gaming software for both mobile and Internet gaming systems. They will be able to use the comic book heroes in their bingo, poker and general casino gambling games.

Cryptologic could not have expected this kind of competition so early in the game. Their new deal with Marvel is licensed until 2010. Playtech's new deal has taken the edge off Cryptologic's lead in the superhero world.

Mor Weizer, Playtech's Chief Executive Officer said "This agreement is a major stepping stone for Playtech, as it will greatly extend the commercial appeal and cross-selling opportunities of our products. Branded slots are a good way of diversifying our product and attracting new players."

The online gaming world is surely wondering if both these software companies will make it through unscathed. Should Playtech create better games than Cryptologic, Cryptologic may lose customers. On the other hand, should Playtech create inferior games to Cryptologic, they may well lose customers.

All in all, the competition should keep both companies working even harder than before to bring spectacular games to their players. Online casino gamblers who play in either Cryptologic or Playtech powered online casinos should expect enhanced fun in the future.
