All Sides Suggest Nevada Dominate Legalized Online Gambling

The United States Congress is just about to have their mid-term elections, and both the Democrats and the Republicans have been fighting hard to convince others of their positions on key issues.
In Nevada, gambling is always a hot topic, and even during these elections, there is much to be said, especially since online gambling is in the process of change. The legalization of online gambling is a big issue for Nevada, because this land based casino haven stands to be the hardest hit if online casinos are legalized.
Las Vegas casinos have already found that difficult financial times have kept players away because the costs associated with trips to a casino far away are simply prohibitive for many would be casino gamblers. The Nevada casinos are also quite aware that they must have lost much of their business to online casinos, because it is simply easier for players to play from the comfort of their own homes. This means that players can enjoy their favorite online gambling games without having to drive or fly anywhere.
When online gambling legislation came up as an issue in a debate between the Democratic nominee, Rory Reid, and his Republican opponent, Brian Sandoval, this was one point that the two parties agreed on.
Both the Republican, and the Democratic representatives feel that should the United States Congress vote to pass the current online gambling proposal, HR 2267, which is the one authored by Congressman Barney Frank, they feel that Nevada should take control of online gambling. The two parties feel that Nevada deserves to have the chance to fully exploit online gambling, since they have the most experience with gambling, and that Nevada should be the state to benefit from online gambling.
Both candidates agreed that Nevada should put itself in a position whereby it can take the most advantage of any untapped revenues that would be available from the online gambling industry. They also feel that Nevada should definitely claim dominance in the online gambling industry.
The Republican, Brian Sandoval, was the former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission. He stated: "I've always felt that if the federal government makes that decision [that online gambling be legalized] Nevada should be a leader."
Rory Reid, the Democrat nominee, agreed with Sandoval. He spoke about how the online poker industry generates billions of dollars, and he feels that "Nevada is missing out." Reid said that he would work towards convincing the federal government to "create a regulatory structure to take advantage of it."
