When there is a recession, one of the ways that a country can help to fill their own coffers is by offering their citizens legalized online gambling. Many players enjoy online gambling as a form of leisure, and will use their leisure money to gamble online, and when they are successful, will put some of their winnings back into the online casinos, which can help them to win even more. All this time, the online casinos, and any country that is taxing the online casino is also making revenue.

The income from online gambling really can help the economy after a recession, and those countries that already offer legalized online gambling, such as the United Kingdom, have recovered quite well from the most recent global recession. Those countries that have not yet legalized online gambling are more concerned about a second recession hitting, than are those that have already allowed the industry to flourish in their countries.

It is therefore likely that a recession can affect growth of the online casino industry in a positive way, especially in a country that has recently legalized online gambling.
