Know Your Opponents

It is useful to be able to identify the kind of players you are playing against in a number of online casino games. The Newcomer

This player is not only a newcomer to online casinos, but a newcomer to whichever online casino game is being played. It is likely that play will slow down somewhat each time it is time for this player to place a bet or make a move in the game. Unless this player is filled with beginner's luck, it is likely that they will walk away the loser. Those who can remember what it was like when they first began to play casino games should go easy on the newcomer, since we have all been there and have to begin somewhere.

The Loose Cannon

This player is easily identifiable since they will be the one that is placing bets on anything that has unlikely and improbable odds. This is not a good gambling personality to cultivate, however, it does not usually affect other players negatively. Those who are loose cannons themselves, should consider reining themselves in, since placing everything you own on a single roulette bet, is not the best plan!

The Professional

There are far less professional players than one would think. There are many who would like to believe that they are professional players, but this kind of players shows up only occasionally. This is the kind of player that you should watch closely. A real pro player has much to teach simply by the example they set. Players should of course watch the pro player's strategy, but should make a point of watching the calm and focused way the pro plays, as well as the etiquette that all players can learn from.

The College Kid - Both Sides of the Coin

College kids can, of course, fit into some of the other gambling personalities listed above. It is fairly easy to identify this personality in chat rooms, whichever way the college kid actually plays the games. Some of the college kids are math wizards, which will give them an edge over other players. Others will only make sports bets because certain sports games and personalities will bring out all their passion. The important thing to remember with the college kid, is that he is not likely to tire, and could play for two or three days straight before giving up, as long as he has the funds to do so.
