Seniors and Online Gambling

Some may think that online gambling is for the younger generation, for those that are more used to using computers. This might still be the case with mobile gambling, since it is more likely that the younger generations will be buying more smart phones, however, more and more of the elderly are beginning to use computers, and of course, many have been using computers for many years already.

Keith Cleaver, himself sixty three, is a teacher who teachers computer skills to seniors. For those who have not worked in jobs in which they needed to learn computer skills, there are many who do not know how to use computers, and yet wish for that door to be opened to them. This is where Mr. Cleaver steps in. He explains: "Elderly people are beginning to understand that not knowing how to use a computer is like living in a country where you don't understand the language."

A professor at the University of Toronto has said that playing games online helps to keep the brain working and it helps to keep the users' mind alert. For those who are concerned that these elderly online casino players do not have social interaction, much of what is attractive about online gaming is the chat rooms, which are very popular amongst the older generation. The chat rooms help to give players a sense of being connected to others.

One of the big bonuses for those who are elderly and unable to get around easily is that they can now play online casino games and interact with friends, and make new friends, all from the comfort of their own homes.
