For each of the video poker variants, the video poker strategy that is used needs to vary at least slightly from other video poker strategy. In Deuces Wild Video Poker, online casino players will need to make sure to use the appropriate Deuces Wild Video Poker strategy in order to play the best possible game that they can.

When playing Deuces Wild Video Poker, the main difference that stands out from other video poker games, as is understood by the name of this video poker variant, is that the deuces, or the two's are used as wild cards. This means that in any given game of Deuces Wild Video Poker that is played with one deck of 52 cards, the chances of getting one of the wild cards, a two, is 4 out of 52.

There are a number of strategy charts that can be used in Deuces Wild Video Poker. The charts that are used are chosen based on the player's initial hand. There is a chart that is used for those hands that have no deuces in them, and charts for hands where varying numbers of deuces appear. Once a player has selected the appropriate chart, they can check the lists to see whether they have one of the hands shown, and then make the decision as to which cards to keep, and which to exchange. Players should always hold onto the hand that shows the highest rank.

To begin with, players who have four deuces in their initial video poker hand, obviously, hold onto all four twos and draw just one new card.

Those who have three deuces in their initial hand will hold onto a Wild Royal Straight Flush, Five of a Kind, such as a pair of 10s or Aces and three deuces. If the player has only three deuces, they should draw two new cards.

When beginning with two deuces in your initial poker hand, you should hold onto a Wild Royal Straight Flush, Five of a Kind, a Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Four Cards to a Wild Royal Straight Flush, Four Card that form an open ended straight flush. However, if the player only has two deuces and none of these other possibilities, they should draw three more cards.

Players with one deuce should keep any of the top poker hands, and if they do not have anything of value, they should draw four more cards.

For players who have received no deuces, if they have one of the well ranking poker hands, or nearly have one of the high ranking poker hands that needs one card, they should keep that and simply draw the appropriate number of cards. If they have nothing of consequence, they should simply give it all in and draw five brand new cards.
