Blackjack tournaments are becoming very popular in online casinos. The main difference is that players bet against each other, and not against the House, or the dealer.

The player that ends up with the most chips at the end of a level moves up to the next level. All players start the tournament with the same number of chips as the other players. Players buy-in in order to play in the tournament, unless the online casino is offering a special promotion with free buy-ins.The number of chips is decided by the online casino, and is given to players at the start of the tournament. A single table game may give players 1,000 chips, while a multi-player game could give players 5,000 chips to start with.

Each player is dealt a card at the beginning of the first round. The player who holds the card with the highest value is the first one to play. Betting then continues in a clockwise order for each hand that follows.
